2000 Years of History in Honor of the Sun God

It is said that the inner shrine on the bank of the Isuzu River is connected to the ancestors of the imperial household. If you cross the Uji Bridge, you will be entering the realm of the gods. Every twenty years, Ise Shrine is rebuilt using the same construction techniques as builders of the past used. The area maintains the busy atmosphere of the past, complete with throngs of pilgrims come to pray.
