Ryotanji is an ancient temple in Enshu with a history dating back nearly 1300 years. It is also the family temple of the Ii family, who ruled Omi in the Edo period. The garden, designed by Enshu Kobori, is a National Place of Scenic Beauty.

From Nagoya Station, take the Tokaido Shinkansen to Hamamatsu Station, at Hamamatsu Station North Exit Bus Terminal ⑮ take the Shibukawa/Iidaira bound bus for about 45 minutes, get off at Iitani-miyamae, and walk for 5 minutes.
