Since its foundation in 1927, the Nihashi Dyeing Factory maintains the technique of "Hamamatsu Chuzome Some" a traditional dyeing method in which dye is poured into the pattern. It results in a pattern that is the same on the front and back and allows for unique expressions such as gradation and bleeding. Tours of the factory and with a hands-on experience of dyeing your very own handcloths are available.
