Did you know that there is a "Pearl Island" in Japan?
The "Mikimoto Pearl Island" is an island where the founder of the world famous pearl brand "MIKIMOTO" successfully cultured pearls for the first time in the world.
Presently it is a "pearl theme park" with shops where one can buy jewelry of the "MIKIMOTO" brand and a museum introducing the charm of pearls. The museum has precious items such as the gorgeous globe made with 12,541 pearls, 377 rubies and 373 diamonds.
A Japanese garden and a shrine can be found on this island, which is crowded with many tourists from Japan and overseas.
