The building took about ten years to build, survived World War II, and is a tangible cultural property in Japan. From the moment you enter, you are led by a kimono-clad hostess through a winding path and into a Japanese banquet room with a panoramic view of the green gardens, like stepping into a time warp into a world that flourished a hundred years ago.
