Your Chance to Shoot a Matchlock Gun

Suganuma is a small village comprised of thatched-roof houses that give visitors a chance to see mountain life in Gokayama. There are about 200 items on display. One of the most popular sights here is the chance to see how gun powder is made and even have the chance to fire a matchlock gun. While you're in the Gokayama area, be sure to try the tofu, fish, vegetable dishes and the local soba noodles.
