Japan's Most Famous Dam

The Kurobe hydroelectric dam required seven years and the hard work of 10 million people to complete. The reservoir contains 200 million tons of water. It was referred to as "The Building Project of the Century". There is an observation deck and a sightseeing boat available for visitors. A popular part of the experience for visitors is that on fair-weather days when the pressure is at its fullest, there are huge sprays of water with 10 tons of water passing through the dam per second.
