The Rarest Collection of Samurai Memorabilia in Japan

The "Gojoubanyashiki"  which was designated a national heritage site in 2004, was home to the Kishu regional governmer, who maintained Matsuzaka Castle. The building exists today as it did in those days. A portion of the building is open to visitors and is a great chance to see a slice of late-Edo Period history and life.
