An example of typical architecture from the Showa era, today it serves as a reminder of that era.
In 1938, it was built as a project to commemorate the enthronement of the Showa Emperor. The interior is decorated in the Japanese-Western Eclectic style common in the Showa period and is characterized by the Imperial Crown Style with the roof styled after Nagoya Castle's large keep. Here you can get a sense of both the Showa era and present-day Nagoya.
